AS543: Nepalese Ram Dao Sword

A large Ram Dao sacrificial sword form Nepal. These heavy swords are sharp on the concave side of the blade and were used to sacrificial beheadings of animals. The well forged heavy blade has intricate chisel decorations and brass inlay on both sides as well as the back edge. They eye is inlayed with brass and has black resin inlay as does the eyebrow. The round wood handle shows good age, patina and use. The overall blade has a dark original patina from age and use.
