OC477: Fijian Kiakavo Club

A good quality 19th century Fijian Kiakavo club. These clubs were used for dancing and ceremonies and not as war clubs. This hard wood example has a good dark patina from age and use. There are a few small cracks from age, but the wood is very stable.    

Deaccessioned from "The Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco" aka "The DeYoung Museum" in 2013.
