AF491: Small Nupe Post

A small old Nupe ceremonial post from a ceremonial alter. The cubistic forms have a sort of figurative feel, and a good dark patina from age and use. The bottom section is eroded from being stuck into the ground.     

23 1/2" Tall by 6" Wide. Early 20th century, Nigeria and Niger Africa.
