PH517: Ifugao Punamhan Box

Philippine Ifugao ceremonial ritual box called a Punamhan. This well carved box with double pig heads has broad confident tool marks and a good crusty dark patina from many applications of libations during ceremonies. A classic example with good age and use.    

24 1/2" Long by 9" Tall and 7 1/4" Wide. late 19th or early 20th century, Northern Philippines.
