INDO805: Dayak War Shield

An unusual Northern Borneo Dayak shield with the detail outlines slightly carved into the surface. The back has all natural pigment colors, and the front has been touched up with commercial paints of white, red, and blue at a later date. Good overall patina from age and use.    

48 inches tall by 13.5 inches wide. Late 19th or early 20th century, Borneo, Indonesia.
