AF639: Bedja Shield

A fine and very old Bedja war shield for Sudan. The thick hide has a great surface both on the front and back that shows a lot of age, wear, and good patina from use. The original handle is intact.    

22.5 inches in diameter. 19th or early 20th century, Sudan, Africa.
